Culture diversity is a subject that is been taught at some schools and
universities. This subject teaches you about cultures and how to contact with
the people from that culture and know about them and make you combine with them
easily in your real life.
This
subject is very important in everyone’s life and this subject was only founded at
universities but when they saw it’s very effective they started to put it in
some schools to make students know it since their child’s and take it with them
till they grow up.
To
start with, this subject have been the first subject that made me love to
attend the classes such as and I studied a similar subject as this subject but
it was only about the Emirati culture but this subject is about all of the cultures, languages and religions. I liked all of the classes but I have three
that is my favorite and the first one is the class that we have been told to
do our first reflection and that was about doing a video about our own culture
and we went to many places and made many researches and knew new things about
our own culture and we had to ask visitors from outside the country that are
coming to visit the UAE. The second class was the class the we saw the movie of
the American guy that was taken to India to do his job and he didn't like at
the beginning but he couldn't do anything because he was going to get fired if
he didn't go to India but anyway he went and he suffered at the beginning but
after that he was good with everyone and made himself like them not higher than
them and after spending a lot of time there he was supposed to go back to
America but after that they told him that they will close the part that is in India
and go to japan so he didn't go and made his friend to go instead of him. The third
class that I liked is when we saw the video about the people who went to Everest
mountain and how did they meet and that everyone is from a different country
and how did they stay together and survived.
Harmony Day is a good way to learn about culture. Mostly, it is an event
that lets all the cultures in a country to show more about their culture and
heritage. For example, food, clothes and special things that describe one’s
culture. So, UAE should have a harmony day because we are already a
multi-cultured country. It will help enhance the respect between cultures and
reduce racism in our country.
To conclude, Culture Diversity is an important subject. It must be
taught since the one be a child to make him understand and know what is so the
ministry of education must put it in education program for all students.
